Specialist materials are available including stainless steel braid, aluminium braid and nickel plated coper braid. Alco offer can alco offer PVC covered flat copper braid to customer specification.

Alco hold many plain(natural) circular braids in stock and can manufacture any size and construction of braid.Earth bonding, earth strap, earth braid and earth lead are all typical examples of uses for round copper braid. Alco can supply all of your copper tube terminals or lugs that you may require to make up your flexible copper braided connectors.

Stocking braids are designed for use with high voltage jointing systems, such as earth continuity for MV and HV joints. Supplied flat, it expands to form a circle capable of maximum push-back which will return to its original format. Above is a sample of sizes but can be manufactured to any size and choice of materials including tin plated copper, plain copper, galvanised steel and alternative non-ferrous metals.

Screening braid provide exceptional protection for wire and cable harnesses from electromagnetic interference (EMI). Available in tin plated and nickel plated copper, it provides optical coverage of between 96% and 99%. It is supplied on a former to maintain its round form and to aid its application. Recommended for wire systems demanding higher levels of protection from EMI.
PVC Sleeved Braid
PVC sleeved braid is recommended for outdoor use and in the cable jointing industry. PVC is extruded on to either flat or circular braid in any colour including clear. When braids are covered, current ratings should be reduced by approximately 10%.
